What you get/Standard vs actual

Where the work drifted.

Standard work drifts. It always has. The question is whether you find out in the week it happens or at the audit six months later, and whether you can show it when you do.

Standard against actual in Manvis, the deviation shown against the footage it came from.

What is in it

The standard sequence and what the clip actually contained, held against each other, with the deviations named and the frames attached. A step done out of order, a step skipped, a step that now takes half again as long as the standard says.

Why the footage matters

A deviation you cannot show is an opinion, and opinions do not survive a conversation with a supervisor who was there. The frame is what turns it into a fact that can be acted on without anybody defending themselves.

It is worth being plain about what this is not. It is not an assessment of a person. The study is of the process, people are de-identified by default, and the artefact does not name anybody or rate anybody.

What it replaces

Finding out at the annual audit. Or not finding out, and quietly rebuilding the standard around the drift because everybody has been doing it that way for a year.

The same cycle read as man and machine, where waiting shows up as a shape rather than a number.

Drift is not a discipline problem. It is a visibility problem, and this is the visibility.
